The President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, maintained throughout the day Thursday, a meeting at the Palace Hall of Cartagena with 29 mayors from the region of Murcia, all People's Party, with which analyzes different issues and topics of common interest such as the current economic crisis and the regional and municipal funding.
Recess of the meeting, which will continue with a working lunch at the same premises of the Town Hall, Valcárcel has appeared with the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, in its role as host.
Barreiro explained that this is a meeting of mayors made periodically with the president and in which issues are addressed current interest, such as today's economic crisis and the measures taken by the government and the new model of regional and municipal funding.
Valcárcel outlined common lines will continue the autonomous region and municipalities to address the crisis, which go to maintain the level of social spending in their budgets, which currently stands at around 70 percent and reduce the current expenditure energy-saving measures, freezing the salaries of politicians and officials, and eliminating wasteful spending.
The measures also include a commitment not to raise taxes, since according to the president, in a situation like this should not raise taxes, but even lower.
These measures will be specified in a decalogue of actions that are expected to be produced in September.
The president has been estimated between 35 and 40 percent revenue decline is occurring in the coffers of the Community and the municipalities as a result of the economic crisis and called for a funding model that balances the criterion of the population.

ARCHITECTURE IN THE UCAM
Asked by reporters the president has argued that the Community has not changed position on the launch of Architecture at the UCAM.
The authorization for its implementation is a regulated event in which the Community is limited to verifying that you qualify.
