The mayor of Cartagena, in his capacity as national representative, presented this morning at the Bureau of the Congress of Deputies number of questions for written answer on fire Tentegorra range of construction project and Referral Center Parkinson's Disease in Cartagena.
In particular, Pilar Barreiro, has requested information from the Ministry of Defence on the causes that led to the incident on 10 July, while performing maneuvers Armed Forces units.
Also asked if, after the fires in other shooting ranges such as Retin Sierra de Cadiz (June 2005), Sierra de Teleno (León, September 2005), Count of Gazol (León, September 2005) Muriano Hill (Córdoba, August 2006) that have affected a total area close to 12,500 hectares, the Ministry of Defence has taken some kind of instruction that prevent or restrict live-fire practice in times or weather conditions that maximize the risk fire.
Finally, the mayor has also questioned the existence of some kind of instruction that requires the movement of fire resources with units engaged in target practice
As for the Parkinson Center of Reference in Cartagena, whose recruitment and commencement of works referred to in the Budget 2008, Pilar Barreiro has asked the Ministry of Labour and Immigration on when it plans to tender for the work that may be advanced before end of this year, or if instead the Ministry intends to do the same as in the previous two years, 2006 and 2007, which was budgeted for work and was not hired.
