The Local Police of Cartagena, Manuel Soto and Ivan Dormouse, thanks to rapid and decisive intervention, managed to save the life on Monday a 15-month old baby had apparently choked on a gizzard of bread, have been received and congratulated by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro.
The two policemen have reported first to the mayor and later to reporters, the most intense six minutes of their lives, who have passed since, in just 30 seconds, appeared at a pharmacy in the street Carmen Conde, a call emergency, until delivered to the Naval Hospital doctors to small and refreshed.
As explained, upon notice of 112, both were in the area and came immediately.
The pharmacy staff had tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate the baby, who was not breathing and his eyes blank.
The ambulance did not arrive and given the urgency of the situation, decided to move the child into the police car, with the mother and grandmother.
Another patrol car gave way to reach them soon.
During the trip, one of the agents implemented its first aid training: do not stop word of mouth and put the little upside down, until, near the hospital, the child vomited and began to mourn.
This morning the two officers have visited the boy in the hospital, which he still try to do, but that doctors say are safe.
Manuel Soto has said that this was the most distressing situation as both rewarding who has lived in his 21 years at the local police in Cartagena.
Something similar has happened to Ivan Dormouse, but it only takes one year in the body.
The two were happy and satisfied, in the company of Councillor for Citizen Security, Enrique Pérez Abellán, Security Director, Carlos Nieto and the deputy inspector of the local police chief, Diego Juan Martínez.
