The Ministry of Health and the Health Service of Murcia continue providing new infrastructure to Area II, Cartagena Health to provide quality care to the citizens of the county.
The Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios and the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, today inaugurated the new primary care center in Los Belones and laid the foundation stone of the Clinic of The Albujón.
The Albujón will serve 5,500 inhabitants
The Clinic The Albujón have an area of over 340 sq meters distributed in plant and it is anticipated that construction of the new building, situated at Captain Cortes, completed in March 2009.
The center belongs to the basic health area, Pozo Estrecho Cartagena and will have capacity to serve a population of 5,500 inhabitants.
The Ministry of Health will invest a total of 400,095 euros in the work and staffing of the center, while the City of Cartagena will provide 375,683 euros for the work.
The center has 2 family medicine clinics, 1 and 3 pediatric nursing (nursing one for children), as well as reception and administration area and 3 modules waiting rooms.
The Clinic of Los Belones
For its part, the Primary Care Clinic of Los Belones, belonging to the Basic Health Zone of Cartagena-Mar Menor, is designed to serve a population of 4,000 inhabitants.
In its implementation have been invested 465,292 euros, of which the Ministry provided 321,960 in respect of work, manning and equipment, while the municipality of Cartagena covered the rest, 134,809 euros.
The clinic, located on Calle La Palma Los Belones, has an area of 392 square meters spread over an area of consultation, with 2 of Family Medicine, 1 and 2 pediatric nursing has reception and administration and 5 modules waiting rooms.
Both offices are modern facilities that provide data network that will incorporate medical record and will service appointment.
