204 Daily Local police troops, firefighters and civil protection monitor the municipality of Cartagena during the summer, both on beaches and in the town and provincial councils, which will add to the hundreds of agents of the National Police and Civil Guard central government made available to the municipality to secure summer.
This morning, the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the delegate of the Government in the Region, Rafael González Tovar, have co-chaired the Local Security Board, during which we analyzed the Security Plan Summer 2008.
As he explained the mayor, this reinforcement will be a total staff of 21,700 working hours in the beaches by the local police, and 37,784 hours of work in the city of Cartagena.
Through this effort, a daily average of 115 troops will serve the entire municipality of Cartagena, in three shifts to cover 24 hours.
During the summer, local police detachments are five: the two detachments in Mar de Cristal and La Azohía - which will open next Monday - for services to citizens, in addition to the 3 detachments fixed (Cabo de Palos, El Algar and Pozo Estrecho).
In addition, there will be special services in the festivities, especially in July and the first half of August, a period in which recorded an average of four districts and county parties.
As for the fire service, there will be permanent guards 24 hours with 17 troops in addition to Security Park, of at least another 6 located 8 to 24 hours.
With regard to civil protection, beach lifeguards will be 72, with 22 rescue and effective in 21 beaches in the municipality of Cartagena, and a first aid Coordinating Center in Barco Perdido Beach in La Manga.
As for the material, Civil Protection will have two ambulances, three motorcycles of sand, four Zodiac boats, three all-terrain vehicles, four vehicles and three motorcycles of water table.
The mayor pointed out that there will be a reinforcement in the service on the occasion of the celebration of the Sea Music and Theater of the Sea, which is expected to be increased visitor population.
NATIONAL POLICE AND POLICE
For its part, the government delegate in the region, Rafael González Tovar, stressed the importance of coordination of all security forces available to secure this summer, and the collaboration of the hotels and shops in the city .

It also will offer tourists the opportunity to collate the documents so that foreigners may use a photocopy of your original documentation to protect from possible theft or loss.
