Cartagena Triathlon Club has organized the third edition of Cartagena City Triathlon, held on Sunday 22 June, with the assistance of the City of Cartagena, the College of Licensed Physical Activity in the Region of Murcia, Eroski, Hero and Acuajet.
Testing will begin at 10.30 am.
The presentation of this event to the media took place this morning, counting with the presence of the Councillor for Sports, Alonso Gómez, and President and a member of the Triathlon Club Cartagena, Francisco and Miguel Pedrero Alfaraz, respectively.
The Triathlon III, which are expected to participate than 220 athletes from all over Spain - including several of the elite - will be developed in the form Sprint, including 750-meter swim (departure from the old Yacht Club and finishing with whale's tail), 20 kilometers of cycling (from Heroes of Cavite to the tunnel Cala Cortina in three turns) and 5-kilometer race walk (also from Heroes of Cavite until Icue, through the Sea Wall).
The ultimate goal is the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
Monetary prizes have been established for the top five male and female, with an amount ranging from 200 to 15 euros.
In this edition has doubled the number of participants last year and the number of licenses which currently has the Triathlon Club Cartagena, around 40.
