The Ministry of Education and Science, through its National Autonomous European Educational Programmes (OAPEE) has awarded a European Regional Employment Service and Training (SEF) to train professionals who perform non-destructive testing and has promoted the National Centre for Vocational Training of Cartagena.
The project, which has lasted 33 months, has had a budget of 459,500 euros.
Specifically, the main purpose of the 'European Training Program for the Qualification of NDT Personnel' (PROQUALINDT) has been the development of teaching materials (manuals and study guides for students and teachers) to train professionals in five nondestructive testing methods, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, industrial radiography, magnetic particle and eddy current, and will allow the certification with the European standard EN-473.
For the preparation of these materials, the SEF has enjoyed the cooperation and participation of the Spanish Association of Non-Destructive Testing and international partners in the UK, France and Germany, through their associations and institutes nondestructive testing.
Guides and manuals are published in four languages: Spanish, English, French and German and will be unique for all partner countries.
Thus, in a first printing have been released 20 tutorials that contain the objectives, general guidelines, the requirements of students and facilities, as well as the list of theoretical and practical contents, the estimated time for delivery and evaluation of knowledge .
In addition, 900 have been published manuals for students, which reflect the development of theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for their study, and 20 manuals for teachers that contains educational guidelines to be followed by the trainer.
Leonardo Da Vinci Programme
The winning project, PROQUALINDT has been developed under the European Programme Leonardo Da Vinci Vocational Training which is designed to meet the needs of teaching and learning of everyone involved in education and training, as well as institutions and organizations providing or facilitating such training.
Its objectives include improving the quality and quantity of personal mobility in vocational and continuing training in Europe and cooperation between institutions or organizations, to promote foreign language learning and content development support, services, technology-based pedagogies information and communication.
Besides the recognition it has given to the SEF project have been awarded four Leonardo specific programs developed in Spanish cities such as Zaragoza, Pontevedra, Barcelona and Granada.
