The Department of Education of the City of Cartagena yesterday celebrated the closing ceremony of the School Program Parents of the school year 2007/08, framed in events commemorating the 25th anniversary of this program.
The closing took place in the Hall of the Military Historical Museum of Cartagena and the conference began with 'The educational role of grandparents in today's family', given by the Cartagena Isabel Soto Torres, a specialist in clinical psychology and psychotherapist.
The paper dealt with the social changes that have occurred in today's society where the role of grandparents has been undergoing major changes, in many cases occupying a key role in educating children.
The paper was appreciated by the attendees, who had the opportunity to participate through the conference that developed subsequently.
The next speaker was the Councillor for Education, Maroto Josefa Gomez, he turns to the audience highlighting the commendable work being done through their respective AMPA's towards the training of parents.
The event was closed with the presentation of diplomas to AMPA program's participants, as well as federations of parent associations that have worked this way in the promotion and dissemination.
