The director of the Municipal Institute of Social Services and the president of the Federation 'Fernando Garrido', attended, along with representatives of the Federation and the Associations of Neighbors, the first Workshop on the boards of Neighborhood Associations, held at the headquarters of the Association of Ensanche-almarjal, lasting 2 hours (between 20:30 and 22:30 hours), within the project 'Creating Spaces of Participation and Violence' to enhance the integration of migrants living in neighborhoods.

This project is an initiative of the Municipal Institute of Social Services, through the Migration Program and Development Cooperation in collaboration with the Federation of Neighborhood Associations 'Fernando Garrido', and includes various activities with activities of information, awareness and participation.

The first step of the project is conducting workshops and activities for neighborhood representatives, in order to promote the creation of spaces for reflection between neighbors and bring joint actions with other immigrant associations that exist in the municipality.

The working groups of the workshop have been trained by the IMSS and technical director of the Immigration Program and representatives of the following areas: Slum Virgen de la Caridad, José María Lapuerta, Barrio de Peral, Ensanche-almarjal, Garden City Sector Station, San Felix and The Barreros.

The objective of this workshop is the analysis of migration as a whole, as well as the reception and integration of new neighbors in the daily operations of neighborhoods.

The workshop was led and boosted by two members of the Consortium of Agencies for the Comprehensive Action with Migrants (CEPAIM), with which it has to carry out the project.

'Creating Spaces of Participation and Violence' wants to promote the creation of intercultural spaces in neighborhoods or councils, the coexistence of the inhabitants of different cultures and see some of the measures that are already happening in our city and can serve to make joint strategies work.
