The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and the president of the Community of Irrigators of Campo de Cartagena, Francisco Sáez, this morning signed a collaboration agreement for the repair of the pavement and road signs from all walks of shipping service in the municipality of Cartagena .
As explained Councillor for Infrastructure, José Vicente Albaladejo, under this agreement, valid until December 2010, both institutions will provide 40,000 euros annually for the repair of all the ways of transferring ownership of the Community of Irrigators located in the municipality of Cartagena, approximately 300 kilometers.
To set the actions to be developed on these roads will create a Monitoring Committee consisting of two members from each of the signatories.
Also, the Community of Irrigators must submit an annual report to the City Council on the activities he considers to be priorities.
The first of the actions to be carried out through this agreement will be repairing the stretch of road that passes Siphon under the old way.
Subsequently, other sections will be arranged from other irrigated roads.
This is the first agreement signed between the municipality and the Community of Irrigators, which holds about 800 miles in its sphere of influence, ranging from Pilar de la Horadada to Fuente Alamo.
Albaladejo has also noted that the Way of Syphon, converted into a first class road infrastructure by the use of the residents, will be further action if talks with the Directorate General of Highways thrive.
