To commemorate the 200 anniversary of the street battles against the French invasion, which marked the beginning of the Peninsular War in Spain, the Regiment of Artillery Anti-Aircraft No. 73 of Cartagena has organized various cultural events around this event.
Among them, in collaboration with the Department of Education, is organizing a drawing competition for schoolchildren in the municipality of Cartagena, aged between 6 and 16, which has as its theme the deed of May 2, 1808.
The purpose of this competition is the visual representation of schoolchildren and students in an event that marked the history of contemporary Spain.
To encourage student participation they have been grouped into three categories, each of which shall be responsible for a first, second and third prizes, as well as three schools that have shown greater involvement, as evidenced by the bases.
The deadline for delivery of originals will be the April 23, 2008
