The Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, in collaboration with the Youth, wants to call the consciences of all people, especially young people, bringing the reality of poverty and show that it is everyone's problem and we can all work together to try to fix it.
That is the spirit that the Second Conference Cartagena born Solidarity, under the slogan Do we share?
aims to bring the reality that people living in the South, to promote solidarity and civic participation and social awareness through the involvement of all people in organizations working in Cartagena with international cooperation.
These represent Solidarity IInd Cartagena, according to the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, a consolidation of work done by NGOs in the municipality, who have joined in this celebration to combine their individual efforts and thus achieve greater impact.
Thus, the activities of this day will be closely related to the Eight Millennium Development Goals, a blueprint agreed to by all nations and institutions worldwide to help the poorest.
The Day will be held on Saturday April 5 at the Plaza Juan XXIII.
Thus, from 11 hours of the morning have organized activities for the entire population, especially children and youth, graffiti competitions, freestyle and animation workshops.
At 13 hours will place the central act of the Conference, with a chain of solidarity among participants and the reading of a manifesto.
Throughout the afternoon, continue solidarity activities, dancing and entertainment for all audiences.
Also be equipped with an information on the work undertaken by development organizations as one of the most important aspects of this conference is the direct contact with the volunteers who carry out these projects d evelopment.
Currently, the Municipal Council for Cooperation consists of thirteen non-governmental development organizations.
