The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana visited today in La Manga del Mar Menor to the 190 participants in the first round of Senior Tourism 2008, together with the Senior General Manager, Paloma Recio.
Of the 190 participants in this first round, 174 were beneficiaries and 16 passengers.
Of these, 105 are women and 85 men from the 23 municipalities as follows: Abarán (4 people), Eagles (2), Alhama de Murcia (2), Archena (2), Cartagena (23), Cehegín (4), Ceuta (6), Cieza (2), Jumilla (20), Lorca (23), Lorquí (2), Mazarron (6), Molina de Segura (8), Moratalla (6), Mule (4), Murcia (33 ), Puerto Lumbreras (21), San Javier (2), Torre Pacheco (1), Las Torres de Cotillas (2), Ulea (3), Villanueva del Segura (2) and Yecla (12).
Bascuñana welcomed "the great reception given to this first package" and recalled that, in addition to La Manga, the Ministry has designed three different vacation packages: Benidorm, Archena Spa and Costa del Sol, with six days of each room, full board and excursions.
"The Tourism Program 2008-2009 Senior constitute an offer of 7,550 seats, 550 more than last year with a budgetary contribution of the Ministry of 1,194,000 euros, triple the previous year," added the responsible autonomy.
