The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, have held this morning a meeting in which they have defined a decalogue of joint actions will be incorporated into an agreement to be signed soon and that will affect issues such important as infrastructure, culture, social or health services.
The meeting was also attended by the Councillor for Infrastructure, José Vicente Albaladejo.
Both mayors have said they will now both cities go hand in hand in many projects involving the two municipalities.
Among these projects is the proposal to establish a light rail line between La Union and Cartagena, a first step, said Barreiro, so that people can enjoy a rapid transit, fast, clean and comfortable.
In this protocol actions also include the proposal to convert the N-332 road linking the two populations, urban section.
In this sense, the mayor of La Union has been advanced that this project will be extended to El Algar, a population that is far from just three kilometers from La Union.
Thus, there will be two sections of this country that will become a flood: the stretch of El Algar La Union and La Union to Cartagena.
This avenue will have sidewalks, street lighting, street furniture and light rail above encompassed within this avenue.
Francisco Bernabé has stressed that it is time that the harmony that exists in teams of either Government is also inter-municipality.
The Union has ceased to live with his back to Cartagena and it is part of the region, he said.
On other matters questioned by journalists, including the creation of the province of Cartagena, the two mayors have said it's an open debate in society but should be done at the regional level, always with the views of other municipalities.
For its part, the mayor of La Union has said that his council is in favor of building the container terminal construction on the coast, on employment generation and stability, although they disagree on its location in the Gorguel.
