The councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, presided over the events organized to celebrate the Day II 'Cartagena Solidarity', which took place last Saturday at the Plaza Juan XXIII with the participation of five hundred people formed a human chain and were read a manifesto by Non-Governmental Organizations for Development.
Throughout the day workshops were developed and cooperative games and entertainment for all ages, highlighting graffiti competitions and freestyle-big and exhibitions Funky and hip-hop.
This edition has been specially designed for young people as one of its primary objectives was to capture the attention and involvement of this group, and their incorporation into the institutions for International Development Cooperation, with performances by professional Rap and urban art, ending day with the trophy.
The first prize of graffiti was to the work of Felipe Garcia Pagan, runners-up getting the work done by the team of Daniel Irvin Belchi Lorente and Ruben Estrada and a special mention for the young by the Marin Abel Bernabeu.
In the Freestyle-big contest, won first prize Juan Pedro Alarcón Pérez (Catxx du Pem) and runners-up Sergio Soto Vidal (Momgli).
Under the motto 'share', the purpose of this meeting is the joint effort of all the NGO's, with the involvement of local government, to perform actions on a larger scale impact and aimed at the entire set of population, based on increased social solidarity and civic participation.
The activities have been carried out relate to 'The Eight Millennium Development Goals', which are a global plan agreed by all countries and leading development institutions with a view to boosting aid to the poorest through volunteering.
In organizing these activities has had the cooperation of the Youth Council and its volunteer group.
