The City of Cartagena has purchased a new tanker-rounder for forest fires, which may be used by firefighters Cartagena Park at the next regional campaign against fires.
The great advantage of this truck is that it has a system of water pipes around the cabin of the vehicle.
This system is twofold: first, protect the cabin in case of tipping, and on the other, in case you become trapped in a fire, release water pipes in the cab and the wheels of the vehicle through an autonomous tank with a capacity of 300 liters.
In addition, the tanker has a capacity of 3,500 liters of water, a double cabin for six people and large wheels that allow entry into inaccessible places.
During these days, Cartagena firefighters are taking part in training courses to learn the operation of this new tanker.
The truck has been purchased from the company Protec Fire for 180,000 euros, paid mostly by the Autonomous Community.
