The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, met today with President of the Federation of Neighbourhood Associations of the region of Cartagena (FAVCAC), Leandro Sanchez, as part of its management team, recently re-elected as representatives of neighborhood groups.
Along with Leandro Sanchez, the meeting was attended by the Vice President FAVCAC, Alejandra Pardo, Secretary, José Martínez Navarro, the Deputy Secretary, Alberto Gomez Aguiar, the Treasurer, Bernardino García Martínez, Vice Treasurer, Luis Sánchez Pina and vocal Planning Francisco Rodríguez García.
During the visit, the mayor has been invited to open soon the new home of the neighborhood association, to be located in school district of Santa Lucia.
Among other issues, the representatives of the residents have been exposed to Pilar Barreiro their main concerns regarding infrastructure, recalling the commitment made in the electoral program of converting the road Siphon on a fast track with two lanes in each direction to facilitate communications the north.
They have also asked the mayor to continue in line with improving public transport, so linking the provincial to the center, but also to the councils together.
Finally, Leandro Sanchez has expressed to the first municipal authority neighbors' desire to participate more in the planning of works relating to the neighborhood, and part of the Local Security Board, for which demand a greater role to monitor public safety in the provincial councils.
