The Minister of Economy, Enterprise and Innovation, Inmaculada García, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of the City of Cartagena, Agustín Guillén, inaugurated this morning the Annual Forum of the Information Society in the Region of Murcia in the tent shows to the citizen is installed in the Plaza de Jose Maria Artes, near the port.
The minister stressed during the site visit that the region is approaching the national average as the use of new technologies, particularly internet access, is concerned.
Currently, the national average is 51% and the region of Murcia has now reached 45%.
The Ministry of Economy, Enterprise and Innovation has launched the fourth consecutive year Development Plan of the Information Society, which assists families to access the Internet from home, aid to reach some 10,000 Murcia, compared to 6,000 last year.
These grants will involve about 200 euros, within the estimated cost of 1,500 euros per person.
Fair demonstrations on new technologies will be open until Sunday, April 27.
