The Classical Music Competition for Young Performers of the Region of Murcia, 'Between Strings and Metals', organized by the Youth Council and the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, held last night closing ceremony and awards ceremony, with the presence of the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro.
Once issued the decision of the jury, proceeded to present awards to the winners in its various forms.
Thus, in the form of guitar the first prize went to Sofia Jiménez Gómez Briseis, in the form of wind to Francisco Javier Alcaraz León, the top prize in piano went to José Antonio Candel, in woodwind, Raquel Diaz Rope was to Maria Ramirez and Canto, the first prize went to Carmen Villalba.
With regard to the mode of Percussion, the prizes have been declared void, but encouraged the jury to continue working finalists to appear in future editions of the competition.
During the closing ceremony held a concert by the Cartagena Chamber Orchestra directed by Brian George Webber, performing as a soloist Ana M.
Flowers (First Prize in the form of rope last year's contest, the Conservatory of Music of Murcia), who delighted the audience with a work of Mozart, and closed the ceremony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, directed by Andrés Pérez Barnabas.
There have been many who have made this contest, both teachers and members of the jury, staff of the Conservatory and other members of the Youth Council, also having the support of the Autonomous Region, through the Academic Planning DGs Cultural Promotion.
Between strings and brass has managed to build a high level of participation in its eleventh edition and this year that more people have submitted a total of 89 young people from different parts of the Region of Murcia and who have chosen to first prize of 700 euros, and a second prize of 300 euros.
