Local Development Agency and Employment (ALDE) of the City of Cartagena has been lodged with the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade on project 'INCA', under the call of the Plan Avanza.
The 'INCA' is aimed at setting up a Center for Computer and Technology Knowledge, which will be housed in the old health center Barrio de la Concepción.
From this center is to promote access for all citizens to e-government through new technologies and disseminate local and regional culture through active participation of all Cartagena, generating a social meeting place and cultural, can to call different groups of the population and create networks of collaboration between institutions, companies, associations and individuals.
The requested budget to the Ministry amounts to the amount of 1,123,282 euros, which is intended to cover economically the five project phases: adaptation of the center, the project campaigns, website construction and project platform, open-access classrooms and on-line classes, counseling and training workshops for citizenship and presentation and dissemination of project results.
If approved, the schedule of performances will run from November this year, until December 2010.
