Series of lectures on art and reflection Much More May (12/05/2008)

The artist Cartagena Juan Delgado, along with the councilman of Youth, Javier Herrero, this morning the conference 'The Wounded Image: The Theatre of the Dead and Obsessions, "which offered on Tuesday, May 13 at the Palace Molina, in which the photographer explores the tension between fiction and representation of reality in the practice of contemporary photography, with the central axis fascination with violence.

This project, which is part of the lecture series organized by the Youth Council in the May festival Much More 'Transformations.

Art, thought and activism ', develops a narrative in which the last scene shows the viewer to reconstruct this hidden history that recreates the image in his eyes.

Juan Delgado was born in Cartagena in 1965.

After graduating in photography at Valencia, in 1997, graduated in Audiovisual Media at the University of Westminster, with a thesis on the representation of Transsexuality in Spanish Cinema (1971-1999), an issue that has been exploring in photographic work since 1989 with the series of portraits Transformers (1989-1994) and L'Androgyne Sexuel (1994-1996).

His research concerns the experience of trauma and uprooting it took to produce several experimental films most notably "Do not Look Under the Bed '(2001),' The Passion of Teresa" (1999), and the video performance ' Entertaining t Who Are You? "

(2002) where he questions his own role as an artist.

In 2003 produced, in collaboration with a team of refugee artists in the UK, 'Arrow Sans Corps, "a video installation in which they raised the issue of illegal immigrants and their tragic experience, this project presents a time first in Spain in the context of Mucho Mas Mayo.

Since 2004, still investigating the traumatic experience and its relationship with the landscape in the series' Suspended Reverie. "

Juan Delgado works and lives in London since 1994.

The conference will take place from 20.00 hours and entry is free until all seats.
