This weekend was held in Cartagena the IV World Junior Championship, Challenge Cup, I Aesthetic Gymnastics Junior Group-III and the World Cup women's category.
Two days of high competition, which brought together the best athletes in aesthetic gymnastics world, to the delight of more than 1,300 spectators attended the event and enjoyed the skills of these gymnasts.
After the arrival of the teams on Friday, checks were carried out, raffles and club coaches who have represented the countries of Bulgaria, Canada, USA, Estonia, Finland, Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine and Spain, a total of 500 participants among gymnasts, coaches, delegates and judges, among whom was the Cartagena, Francisca Martínez Gallego, international judge.
The championship began with the display of the Municipal School of Dance and Juggling, after the parade prior to all participating teams.
The competition was very close to the end, thus classifying the Cartagena senior team for the final after being one tenth, not having the same success, the junior team that was ranked number seventeen and did not get the pass to the final after a creditable display.
On the first day teams dominated the Finns, Russians and Latvians.
On the last day, after an outstanding performance and the score of the first phase, the team DeltaT (Finland) became champion, Oscar (Russia), runner-up and National Team (Bulgaria) and third in women's category, leaving Spanish representatives The INEF Barcelona, Cartagena and AR ranked seventh, ninth.
On the other hand, junior, Fotonit (Finland), Victoria (Russia) and Sonet (Russia), in that order took a clean sweep of podium success.
To finish the championship and after the parade of teams, proceeded yesterday to the closing ceremony, chaired by Johann Tumal Jautuneu, president of the International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics, Alonso Gómez López, Councillor of Sports City of Cartagena Berta Gate, President of the Spanish Association of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics.
This sporting event has been organized by the Department of Sports City of Cartagena, the International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics, the Spanish Association of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics and Fitness Association of Aesthetic Group in the Region of Murcia.
He has also enjoyed the cooperation of the Directorate General of Sports in the Region of Murcia, Cartagena Puerto de Culturas consortium, the Association of Graduates in Physical Education and CAFD of the Region of Murcia and the Carrefour Shopping Center.
