More technical and human resources for citizens and visitors to enjoy certain beaches in perfect condition, is the main feature of the plan for cleaning, maintenance and surveillance of the coast of Cartagena, which this morning has finalized the Mayor Pilar Barreiro, along with Infrastructure councilors, José Vicente Albaladejo, Public Safety, Enrique Pérez Abellán, Neighborhood Relations, Nicolás Ángel Bernal, and the general directors of the Coastal Services Institute, Gabriel Ruiz, Security, Carlos Nieto.
The operating staff doubled from the year 2007: 181 people involved, of which 109 were responsible for the cleaning of beaches and adjacent areas, landscape maintenance and street furniture, and 72 surveillance and rescue through the 22 positions lifeguard to be operating this summer.
In terms of media, the municipal Civil Protection have 19 vehicles and boats: three all-terrain, four vans, personnel carriers, two ambulances, four jet skis, two quad sand and four inflatable boats.
Mechanical means which count for shoreline cleanup has also expanded significantly, reaching their thirties: there are seven beach cleaning machines, a recogepapeleras, six tractors, two trucks, three sweepers, a blower, two motorcycles, a car Four personal transport vans and two trailers.
AREAS OF WORK
This year the Rescue Plan Monitoring and Beaches coastline has been divided into three main areas: company La Manga, which stretches from Cala Reona and Cabo de Palos to Villas Caravaning, the Mar Menor workplace, from Mar de Cristal to Urrutia, and the west, including the Azohía, Isla Plana and El Portus.
In these three centers will have a total of 73 workers working, of which 46 are intended in the heart of La Manga, 16 will in the center of the Mar Menor and 11 in the center of the west.
To cope with the summer, has reinforced the initial template for each of the centers, totaling more than forty new temporary contracts.
They have to add 36 workers to enhance their service to Lhicarsa common on beaches.
NIGHT CLEANING
The beach cleanup will be held from June 15 to September 30 at night, except in the west.
There are three machines in the area of influence of the workplace in La Manga, three machines assigned in the workplace in the Mar Menor and a machine to the west.
In the morning, will take place cleaning of the most complicated.
The bins are emptied daily and 44 chemical toilets will be installed by the various municipal coastal beaches.
In addition, there will be a strengthening of services during the weekend to remove the remains of 'botelleo', especially in the area of La Manga and Cabo de Palos.
Outposts
As the number of checkpoints, the number will depend on the season in question.
In high season there will be a total of 22 seats spread over different regions, with 72 people working on them (have increased by three positions from last year and 25 people), while in medium season (second half of June and first of September) the number of operational positions on the beaches is 15, with a total of 56 people.
In low season, the number of posts is 3, in which 21 people were allocated for this purpose.
In addition, this year is to 'professionalise' the rescuers.
So far, the work is done by volunteers without any compensation, but it is intended that staff performing this function have appropriate qualifications and remuneration.
Also, as a new feature this year will be marked all bathing areas to prevent them from being invaded by pleasure craft and jet skis.
MUNICIPAL COMMITMENT
The Councillor for Infrastructure, José Vicente Albaladejo, stressed that one of the municipal government's commitments was to increase the attention on the beaches of the municipality of Cartagena.
Result of this compromise was born the Municipal Services of the Coast.
The Plan of beaches this morning intensifies the municipal government's effort in terms of cleaning, maintenance and security in the coastal zone.
The main objective, according Albaladejo, is that all beaches are cleaned daily during the bath and bathers can enjoy a safer bathroom.
The budget to implement this Plan will be around four million euros.
