HISTORY OF AESTHETIC GROUP GYMNASTICS
Aesthetic gymnastics took place between 1800-1900 with the gymnastic movement that was based on theories of Ling and Swedish gymnastics, has been developing for more than 100 years in Finland and is now being implemented throughout Europe.
It is based on natural and fluid movements that put special attention on the health of the gymnasts.
Cartagena has become a pioneer of this discipline in the region, being present in various competitions since 2 years ago.
Our gymnasts participated in the World Cup in Bulgaria in November 2006, earning the 12th position, and the World Cup in Prague in April 2007, ranked number 15.
On 6 May I welcome the School Championship Aesthetic Group Gymnastics at the Municipal Sports Pavilion, organized by the Sports Council in collaboration with the Association of Aesthetic Gymnastics in the region, which is based in the city.
