Employment Workshop 'Older Dependents' runs from 21 November 2007 until 20 November this year and is funded by the City of Cartagena, the Regional Employment Service and Training of the Autonomous Region of Murcia and the European Union through the European Social Fund.
Employment Workshops are included in measures to support employment creation and configured as a mixed employment and training targeting unemployed twenty-five or more years.
Participating workers acquire vocational and job training by performing work or services of public utility or social interest related to new employment sites, allowing their subsequent job placement both paid employment through the creation of business projects or social economy.
In addition to specific training for Geriatric Care Assistants are also given training in risk prevention, information technology, environmental awareness, job seeking and entrepreneurship.
At the end of the Workshop on Employment of working students receive a certificate stating the duration in hours and the level of theoretical training and practical experience training modules taken.
