The Councillor for Sustainable Development, Isaiah Camarzana, attended the Thursday afternoon in a talk on the program of selective collection of used cooking oil intended for residents of the county council of Marfagones Mills.
The councilman said the good performance that is taking the initiative in the municipality, launched since last March.
In the words of the council, the municipality of Cartagena has been collected, until last April, a total of 120 liters of oil, which places him among the top catchers in the region of Murcia, thanks to the tremendous response it has had from of citizens.
Cartagena neighborhoods where more oil has been collected so far are those of San Felix and Private Mediterranean.
The oil collected by the authorized manager has been appointed by the Ministry of Sustainable Development is transported to a treatment plant in Almería, where he used to make biodiesel fuel use in automobiles.
As you may recall, the City of Cartagena soon begin using this product as fuel in a transportation line ALSA company under a collaboration agreement with the Agency for Energy Management in the Region of Murcia ( ARGEM).
During the ceremony, attended by around fifty people, also recalled that the neighbors have at their disposal for the collection of this and other waste an EcoPark in the La Asomada and that very soon have two more infrastructure such a service, one of them very near the Mill Marfagones.
Also referred to the Clean Point Field that was recently released by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and is expected to start using by next summer.
This visit is part of the communication strategy that the council of Sustainable Development is designed to raise public awareness about the importance of active participation in the collection of used cooking oils.
Over the next few weeks, these visits will be repeated in other neighborhood associations that are participating in the oil collection program.
