Cartagena does not forget its history and its origins, and therefore the significant enclave of the Roman Theatre will take place on Admired, reviled course forgotten: Women of Ancient Rome.
This activity is organized to mark the celebration of International Women's Day and in the context of the opening of the traveling exhibition of Roma women through comics.
This is a seminar that addresses the reflection on the current achievements and approach to future challenges and at the same time, leads citizens to look to the past to understand a process, not always easy, which led to achieve equality men and women.
In Mediterranean countries, this historical perspective going to address the classical world, the experience of the women of ancient Rome, from powerful and influential midwives to women under the tutelage of fathers and husbands.
Archeology, art, texts of poets and writers, provide insight into a complex and diverse landscape that goes beyond the clichés.
Admired, reviled and forgotten women are now remembered in the Roman Theatre in Cartagena.
