Cartagena has been present in the first Andalusian Conference on Cardio entitled Sudden Death and Sport which has been exposed to the audience as an example of city at the forefront of cardioprotection.
Dr. Antonio Pastor, director of Greater Sports Medicine of the City of Cartagena, participated in a panel discussion on sudden death and sports in which he presented the city Cartagena Cardio project.
In this context the realism of sudden death was the top sport with real and objective experiences of the subject.
The port city was the exponent of cardioprotegida area and example of how to acquire information and infrastructure necessary to operate in these emergencies.
The aim of this conference aimed at healthcare professionals, on the one hand, to publicize the existing scientific updates in the world on this issue so much today and social relevance;
and secondly, the staging of the real situation of sudden death and sports as well as in designing preventive measures.
These days on cardioprotection achieved a great success of participation, with more than 250 people and reached a scientific level in relation to the higher than initially expected presentations.
For its part, the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, and showed the importance of this issue when he met with the Director of Research and Training Emergency (IFUR), José Pérez Vigueras, to include Cartagena in Murcia project Region Cardiosegura.
