The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, received this morning at the administrative building of San Miguel, the new leadership of the Independent Trade Union of Civil Servants (CSI-F).

Among them, he attended the new regional union president Juan Miguel Lopez Blanco.

During the meeting, the mayor and union representatives have addressed various issues such as the possible incorporation of CSI-F to the Bureau of Municipal Trading, for which they have provided a certificate from the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration which certifies, according to members of CSI-F, which must belong to the Bureau.

Lopez has served this demand, communicating to proceed to confirm this point with the Human Resources Service, and if so determined, promote entry into the union.

In addition, the group of workers told Lopez's request to establish the working week at 35 hours.

The mayor said the city government adherence to this aspiration of public employees, while applying for a timeframe for the necessary restructuring, including therein a new relationship of jobs (RPT) in order to optimize and regularize the operation in the performance of public workers and enforce this demand.

The councilman said the union representatives the sensitivity of the government team regarding municipal employees, emphasizing the essential objective for the legislature to regularize the situation of all workers, ensuring their independence to prevent, hereinafter, may be conditioned politically by its precariousness, constituting this circumstance also a guarantee for citizens.

Regarding the dates as this will be possible, Jose Lopez told the union a few months ago asked the Human Resources Service that the new RPT was ready for final approval.

In this regard, he expressed his confidence that these jobs are completed in the summer and then take appropriate supply of public employment for 2014 and 2015 calls, as well as other procedures provided for selection.
