Cartagena, Thursday, 4 February-.

The Joint Committee will study the arrival of the art collection Marifí seats at Regional Museum of Modern Art (MURAM) in Cartagena today had its first working session.

The goal, in addition to the constitution of the Commission has been laying the foundations, and establish a roadmap to study how the MURAM host part of the collection.

Citizens spokesman in Cartagena, Manuel Padin and the Minister of Culture, Noelia Arroyo, agreed last November 6th create this Commission between the regional government and representatives of citizens to negotiate with the owner of the collection, businessman Fernando Gallego, one selection of the works that will become part of MURAM as well as its location in the areas designated Museum (with an approximate capacity for between 30 and 40 works of Marifí places).

Citizens spokesman said that "the illusion is huge, now start working to bring Marifí Cartagena Places collection".

Padín wanted to thank the regional government collaboration but warned he does not want "these steps again to fade in time as happened in the past, we want to build from below, with affirmative steps to secure the arrival of the collection it a reality. "

Orange spokesman training also recalled that after a meeting with the owner Fernando Gallego, he informed them that their conditions to give the collection had changed, and that the main obstacle, the requirement that set forth in its entirety, had disappeared, "Fernando Gallego told us he was ready to that would expose in parts, and realized that the economic situation prevented another solution."

Padín considered "this issue is a matter of present and future, because there is a chance to expose some of the works in the museum, but we must not forget the goal that, when circumstances permit, to expose all collection".

It has also made clear that "the achievement is all this game does not care who's in the photo or who cuts the tape, all I want is for targets that can lead to other inertia that promote cultural tourism are met and the revitalization of this part of the old town "

For his part, Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, José Vicente Albaladejo, thanked Citizens steps taken to refloat the negotiations with the owner of the collection, and has stated that it "is a very important collection, always we have kept the interest that reaches the city of Cartagena. "

Albaladejo also trusts "in the short and medium term to reach a good understanding with Citizens, with advisers (painters Francisco Solana and Pedro Diego Casanova) and the owner and reach solutions."

Citizens gushed negotiations with the owner

Cartagena citizens reached by the end of September 2015 a historic agreement with the owner of Marifí pitches for the arrival of the collection to Cartagena, after more than fifteen years of deadlock in negotiations between Gallego and the regional government.

Orange formation maintained for several contacts with Gallego 2015;

in late September, the businessman said he was willing for the first time, to partially rotatably expose these cultural gems in the MURAM, in its current state and within the limited space currently available, hoping that over time, the awaited expansion of the Museum takes place and can thus completely exposing the collection (this was a requirement of the employer who remained entrenched positions for over a decade).

In addition, the sale of the works would be completely free.

After confirming this change in thinking by Fernando Gallego, Citizens Cartagena requested through the municipal council of Cartagena, which were restored urgent negotiations between the regional government, the City of Cartagena, and the owner of the art collection .

Given the irresponsible passivity of the government team of the City Council, the Municipal Group of Citizens in Cartagena was forced to retake the initiative and requested a meeting with the Minister of Culture to propose the establishment of a commission as a first and necessary step towards the MURAM become a museum of reference in the region.
