The area councilor of Culture and Archaeological Heritage, Ricardo Segado, and the delegate mayor of Education, David Martinez, this morning visited the facilities of the College Peñas Blancas.
The center, located in Tallante and inaugurated last year, was created by a group of parents taking shape as an educational cooperative that serves children three to eleven years. During the visit, the mayors were accompanied by faculty members, the governing council, cooperative and teachers, who explained the innovative methodology applied.

A representative of the teaching staff, Pedro Conesa, explained that it is children who choose freely what they want to do.
Thus, l teachers will adapt to the pace of learning of each student, pointed Conesa.Ricardo Segado highlighted the innovative and courageous initiative that is where children are not just recipients of knowledge but are the protagonists of their learning.A own building, municipally owned, currently serves 33 students in kindergarten and primary education, and its maximum capacity of 73 people.
Currently it has five certified teachers, who are supported in the educational efforts by parents.
The school also organizes training courses like that will take place on February 20, called integrated communication, aimed at families, teachers and socio-professional area.
