The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) is the first university in the region of Murcia in scientific productivity.
In addition, the UPCT ranked 18 th out of 48 universities nationwide productivity and 6th place in uptake of R & D per teacher, above the other three Spanish technical universities.
Cartagena Polytechnic is ranked 14th in two indicators: patents registered and exploited and articles in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Report (JCR).
These data come from the 2013 Ranking of the Spanish public research universities, developed by researchers at the University of Granada (UGR).
The paper analyzes seven indicators referring to 2013: published in JCR, sections of research, R & D projects granted by the Ministry, dissertations, obtained grants for training university teachers (FPU), doctorates with Mention to Excellence Articles granted by the Ministry, published dissertations and patents registered and exploited.
The Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Alejandro Diaz, highlighted the results obtained by the UPCT in those paragraphs of a consolidated and nationally recognized, representative parameters and indicators of research activity ranking.
This ranking is made annually since 2007 to create a new tool with more adequate assessment criteria.
The methodology used in this study has yielded specific rankings for each of the seven indicators assessed, both generally and teacher weighted official results.
The universities of Barcelona, ​​Complutense de Madrid and Granada took the top three positions in total production.
2013 Ranking Research Productivity of the Spanish Public Universities recently published in the journal Psicothema and has been conducted by Raul Quevedo Blasco and Alejandro Guillen Riquelme, led by Professor Gualberto Buela-Casal.
