Through the ADE program of the Department of Sports City of Cartagena, San Fulgencio school Pozo Estrecho held yesterday, Wednesday 22, a day of athletics for pupils of primary school.
The CA Elcano, a club reference in athletics base, along with coaches Alfredo Castilla, Javier Vicente Ferrer and Guardiola, International Athlete UCAM Cartagena, brought the sport to young schoolchildren.
The first part of the day took place in the classroom, where students held a meeting with the athletes and coaches.
Videos about the London Olympics and a projected introduction to athletics for children and young people took the opportunity to ask some questions and interested in topics like sports training and nutrition.
Then all the students had the opportunity to practice in the arena suitable for testing the approach to athletics, like speed, jumping and throwing.
At the end of the day, the school handed diplomas to monitors Elcano Athletics Club.
This event, which also has the support of the Association of Graduates in Physical Education and Sport in the Region, is part of the line of the Department of Sports to bring the sport to schools in districts of the municipality.
