The Read, Think, Imagine, program encompasses 16 activities including literature, film, lectures and workshops will be held from January 21 to March 10 and is a collaboration between the municipal areas of Culture, Equality, Social Services and Libraries
The Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, now with new logo, designed by Ana Cortils, and the aim of expanding cultural horizons in Cartagena under the nearest denomination of the Luzzy, has prepared for the first quarter of 2016 an extensive program of events, 16 in total, related to literature and thought that under the title Read, Think, Imagine, hoisted the issue of equality as one of their banners.
The councilman of Culture and Equality, David Martinez, presented Tuesday this initiative which, as he pointed out, is a collaboration of various municipal departments, such as Culture, Gender, Social Services and Libraries in addition to authors, teachers and cultural enterprises have also put their two cents. Carmen Rodal, Library, and José María Mercader, Equality, accompanied the mayor on his meeting with the media.
From 21 January to 10 March, the Cultural Center will host the presentation of books, social and cultural debates, film screenings, free workshop taught creative writing Clara Obligado with a limited number of 30 places and presentation Cartagena a new publisher, Malbec.
Among the invited authors, with strong presence of native of Cartagena and the region, highlights and established artists such as Elvira Menendez or Lola Lopez Mondejar, along with others who begin their career as writers.
There will be room for poetry, from the hand of Ruben Castillo and his poems for a known country, and children's literature, with Marisa Lopez Soria and Superberta collection and cousins.
Two themes, Equality and Cultural Diversity, will be the leitmotiv that accompany The Luzzy programming, highlighting the events dedicated to discuss the situation of women in culture or women and Islam, talks that are part of the celebration of Women's Day on March 8, with the writer Laura Freixas and Persian analyst and professor Nazanin Armanian, plus projections with Sinsombrero The documentary, about the forgotten female writers of the Generation of '27, or the prize Iranian film Green bicycle.
All actions of this program are free and will be held in different areas of the Cultural Center Ramón Alonso Luzzy, including Adult Library, Children's Library, the Auditorium and the Hall José Hierro.
