Sunday began a day in honor of the Virgen de la Luz, patron saint of Tallante.
True to this tradition, parishioners and citizens charged forces with nine o'clock with chocolate and rolls, ready to begin the journey of the traditional pilgrimage of Canar, which took participants from Tallante to Sumiedo Corner, continuing through Canar .
At eleven o'clock the reception to the Virgen de la Luz was produced, bringing the audience into a new Mass in El Canar, where they quickly get crews from various localities of the municipality to liven up the event with their sounds and songs .
As scenario, one of the most beautiful and unique natural landscapes of the region, the Rambla del Cañar that runs between Isla Plana Tallante and at the foot of Peñasblancas.
The event was attended by the mayor, Jose Lopez, several councilors of the government team, including Isabel Garcia, Obdulia Gómez, José María Aznar and Francisco Soler and other councilors of the municipal corporation, was the case of Nicholas Angel Bernal and Diego Ortega.
Mayor and Council did not hesitate to participate actively in the event handing a snack based puddings, cheese, beans or peas, beer and wine accompanied by succulent, thus putting an end to the traditional procession.
