The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, and the area councilor Quality of Life, Francisco Jose Calderon, held this morning a meeting with the center's director Paul Caritas, Maria Trinidad Rosique, to inform them of the economic situation it crosses.
In its 16 year history, this center, located in the Park of Las Canadas of Sorrows, has welcomed hundreds of children who are offered tutoring, games and high tea during the academic year.
Even if needed, they are provided with the material they need to go to school.
In addition,
in summer we have been working since ten in the morning at seven o'clock, with breakfast, lunch, high tea, workshops, tutoring, crafts, sport, baths, theater ... to take children out of the street , achieved within our means but aspire to more, said Trinidad Rosique.
The director explained that they have begun the minimum low year in terms of economic resources, and that is why we have requested assistance to the City of Cartagena, to continue offering both summer and not one, and least able to host 100 children in the facilities, whereas now have 55.
The area councilor Quality of Life thanked the huge work of volunteers in San Pablo and stressed that the city of Cartagena will show solidarity and to help prepare projects.
It has advanced to have addressed the issue of a project for children's school meals during the meeting with the Councillor for Social Services, Carmen Martin.
