The municipal government shows its respect and cooperation with the Ombudsman (28/12/2015)

Regarding the news appeared few days that placed the City of Cartagena among the municipalities with more delay in the requirements made ​​by the Ombudsman, the municipal government wants to explain, for the information of all citizens, the source and foundation of this delay makes as well as those responsible for it.

The City of Cartagena figure in the list of administrations not cooperating with the Ombudsman because the file 13002468 Registration of local associations.

This case stems from a complaint by a neighbor who, at the repeated failure of regulation of citizen participation by the local Executive foregoing, no response or answering questions from the citizen to the Neighborhood Board Algar presented in writing to the Ombudsman People, dated to May 23, 2013, against that Neighborhood Council and the city of Cartagena.

The neighbor, a native of El Algar, addressed the Ombudsman once had exhausted all administrative channels authorized by the local government, attaching documentation submitted questions credited with more than a year of antiquity, without receiving any response.

For these reasons, we conclude that the cause for which the city of Cartagena is one of the municipalities with more delay in the requirements made by the Ombudsman is due to the inaction of the previous government team, who ignored three requirements of the institution, which in no way is the responsibility of the current municipal government, since in 2013 it was others responsible for governing Cartagena.

Furthermore, it is clear that the reason for the citizen complaint was due to the lack of response obtained from the previous Neighborhood Board and City Council to the questions put to them, so to change the members of these bodies is not possible to issue a answer, because they do not correspond to current public representatives explain the facts made by the past.

Finally, the government team of the City of Cartagena wishes to express its willingness to collaborate and work together with the Ombudsman to ensure the rights of citizens, in addition to reiterating the municipal commitment to the promotion of transparency in public administration and ensure citizen participation.
