Thursday December 31 is celebrated as the end of each year in Cartagena for already 34 editions, the famous San Silvestre race to which stakeholders of all ages are invited.
The test will begin at 17.00 with the youngest category then will be to juvenile and child at 17.15 and, finally, the absolute category will have its kick-off at 17:30;
all starting in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Cartagena.
Ricardo Segado, Councillor for Sports, has been accompanied by Gregorio Marble, director of the newspaper La Verdad de Cartagena;
and Eduardo Armada, sports coordinator of the Department of Sports.
The mayor has said that this event is presented as the oldest popular race throughout the region, and invited the participants to attend not so competitive zeal but in the spirit of fun and enjoyment.
In addition, he recalled that may come in costume or a Christmas supplement and will be prize for the three best costumes.
Navy recalled the first edition of this event, which was born in the 80s, and which was at the time with 88 participants, while 31 for the next day there are some 1,500 registered and is expected to exceed 2,000 people.

The registration period ends on Monday 28 at 9.00 pm, and the numbers will be available at the door of the Town Hall on 29 and 30 from 10.00 to 14.00 and 16.00 to 20.30, and the same day 31 from 10.00 to 16.00.
