Councillor and Office of Transparency Portal, José María Soler, presented Tuesday afternoon, the Municipal Transparency Day, which was held in the ceremonial hall of the Town Hall.
Soler explained that the Department and Office of Transparency Portal created to respond to the complainant's right to know of citizens, understanding that the information should be accessible to all within the limits of law and data protection imposes.
The mayor recalled that the City Council and approved by the full September 24, 2015, joining the Local Government Network for Transparency and Citizen Participation of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), while the full November 27, 2015 certifying their adherence to the Code of Good Governance of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and the ratification of the Decalogue of Good Practices of Local Public Communication.
Neighbors and representatives of various civic groups approached the Town Hall to hear, first hand, the main aspects and consequences of the entry into force last December 10 of Law 19/2013 of December 9, transparency access to public information and good governance, which recognizes and regulates the right to know of citizens.
The Conference on Municipal Transparency Cartagena allowed a glimpse of what is transparency, which are the obligations that the City has in the matter and what rights citizens have in terms of access to information are.

On December 3, Soler presented the Transparency Portal, which is accessible through the municipal website.
