The VII Voluntary Commitment Award organized by the Municipal Volunteer Program of the Department of Social Services City of Cartagena will be presented on Tuesday, December 15, in a ceremony attended by the mayor, Jose Lopez.
The individual award falls this year, posthumously, to the Cartagena Inmaculada Bernal Moreno, member of the Association Alraso and died on September 18 from cancer.
Throughout his career he stood out for his generosity and involvement in social issues.
She volunteered in Africa for the collection and delivery of medicines, he worked several years in the refugee camp Sigüenza and has worked as an instructor of free time in Cartagena educational project with Don Bosco.
Besides being part of the Alraso Association where he worked for the integration of immigrants, he was a teacher at the Salesian school.
For its part, the collective award is given to the Inclusive Leisure Services Foundation (SOI), which is dedicated to enable people with intellectual disabilities and / or cerebral palsy, aged 16, to participate in leisure activities with the rest citizens.
The awards ceremony will begin at 19.00 in the Aula Fundación Caja Mediterráneo of Main Street.
