During the holidays, the Roman Theatre Museum proposes a visit for people of all ages in which the public will move the traditions and customs of the festival of Saturnalia.
There will also be a tour through the museum, where details of the festivities guided by Augustus himself be discovered.
The event will end with an invitation to sing a carol in the theater itself.
The Saturnalia were celebrated in honor of Saturn, god of agriculture.
During these Roman festivals they were held large banquets and giving gifts was traditional, in addition to eating a typical dessert with a bean inside.
All of these stories can be discovered throughout the visit.
The activity, entitled Merry Christmas, Bona Saturnalia, can be done in groups of maximum 30 people at a special price of 3 euros, which can be booked on 968 504 802 and 968500093. The visits are scheduled for 23, 24, 26 , 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 December, and for the 2, 3, 4 and 5 January, and start at 11.30.
