The image of the Virgen de la Soledad del Consuelo, of the Brotherhood of Christ of Socorro, has been moved by the components of the grouping's workshop José Hernández Navarro, who was the author of the same in 2003. In the workshop's quoted artist, situated in the hamlet of Murcia Los Ramos, the image will be subjected to a restoration process to eliminate some damage he suffered in the early hours of Good Friday when, being transferred from Santa Maria de Gracia Street Conception to participate in the Way of the Cross of the Christ of Socorro, tripped over wires that had fallen from the support that kept them attached to the wall on the street Four Saints.
The sculptor, along with the repair of scratches and blows suffered from this cause, will also proceed to restore some cracks appeared in the back of the class, presumably due to desencoladura planks with which he shaped block wood on which Hernández Navarro held the carved image.
The restoration, which is expected to be completed in the last days of this December, it has been possible to count on the collaboration of two companies from Cartagena (Envialia and Insurance Brokerage Bolea Saez) that have provided the material means to bring image Murcia, in the case of the first of these, and have covered a significant part of the cost of the insurance policy required to cover any possible contingency in the transfer of the image, both in displacement and return Murcia to our city.
