Sports Councilman, Ricardo Segado, met this morning with representatives of the Chess Club Deportivo Lapuerta, who have dealt with the mayor aspects of the organization of the School Chess Circuit.
For this event, to be held in five tests to dispute between February and May next year, the participation of hundreds of youth in the municipality is expected.
School Chess Circuit, organized by the CDA Lapuerta, have the collaboration of the Department of Sports and Youth of the City of Cartagena.
Also, a test will be held in the Youth Resource Centre.
Mowing stated after the meeting that it is very important to promote chess as a sport among younger, as it is a valuable tool for the development of the mind in a fun and sporting atmosphere.
Circuit, which will host a hundred schoolchildren from around the municipality of Cartagena and other towns such as Alicante, Blanca Molina or be divided into three categories, from the sub 6 to the open, where they can participate also adults.
The registration fee is 6 euros for those who belong to the school of CDA Lapuerta, and 9 euros for the rest, and can be made through the blog of that club (http://cdalapuerta.blogspot.com.es /).
As the bases indicate Circuit for the prizes and gifts end must participate in at least four of the five tests that comprise.
The final classification of the Tour shall sum the four best results in different competitions.
The first test will take place on February 13 at the Jose Maria Lapuerta College.
The following will be at the Youth Resource Centre, the Narval College, the English Court of Cartagena and the last, in the Youth Center Canteras, Sunday 29 May.
