The Governing Council has approved a grant to the City of Cartagena for the realization of the works of development and redevelopment within the Area Regeneration and Urban Renewal (ARRU) of Cartagena, which includes the historic center of the city.
The proposed work is to improve the general condition of the buildings in the historic area with the aim of obtaining a substantial change in the living conditions of families in situations of vulnerability and social exclusion and achieve their recovery and integration stop the degradation process.
The total budget of 344,325 euros, included in the agreement Bilateral Commission ARRU of Cartagena, signed on December 17, 2014, and divided into annuities 2015 and 2016, under the Ministry through the Housing Plan 2013 -2016.
This amount is financed 50 percent of the aid for the works and the rest belongs to the City Council.
In particular, the works of that ARRU consist of the maintenance and conservation of residential buildings to improve the residential fabric in the center, which requires the rehabilitation of buildings and homes and interventions development or redevelopment of its public spaces, with improved accessibility and equipment.
This action completes the grants this year convened by the Community for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of buildings in the ARRU, with a budget of 1.3 million euros.
