The council area of Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon, today received Tuesday the Cartagenera Association for Cancer Research (ACIC), represented by its president, Jose Garcia, and members, Pablo Miguel Perez-Conesa and Guillermo.
Calderon has expressed the commitment of the local executive to establish a collaborative relationship, nonexistent to date, with a group that performs an invaluable work in promoting genetic studies related cancers are more prevalent in the area of Cartagena.
This link will crystallize in a municipal contribution to one of the studies undertaken by the association, a research project on colorectal cancer, which focuses on identifying the bacterial flora associated with this type of tumor.
Calderon said that the current government team is a priority Cartagena look and work with groups that focus on actions that benefit our society.

ACIC, incorporated under the Foundation for Training and Health Research (FFIS), is made ​​up of physicians, researchers and health workers of the Pathology Department of the Hospital of St. Lucia, and aims to promote cancer research and the training among specialists, doing important work in science.
The Association is open to the contribution of partners, employees and companies collaborate in the continuity of its activities, from a contribution of five euros per month.
