The Cartagena Conference: Culture and Municipality, held this past weekend with the participation of about 450 people, have resulted in a long list of conclusions and, more than a hundred proposals have been finally acordadas-, that the city is committed to which form the basis of the municipal work of Culture for the next decade, to be defined and developed with the permanent participation of cultural agents and cooperation with the cultural sector in the municipality.
This new experience of citizen participation has aroused great interest among the participants, hoping that involve the start of a new cycle in the cultural life of the city and the relationship of the cultural sector with the municipal institution, whose commitment is underlined by the presence at different times of the members of the municipal government, from the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, whom he corresponded opening, Deputy Mayor, Ana Belen Castejon, who made ​​the closing speech, accompanied by several councilors, including that of Culture, David Martinez.
It has unanimously accepted the proposal of the Department of Culture to create the Council of Culture of Cartagena as an organ of participation in municipal management, as well as the method and timing need to bring to the approval of the first Municipal Cultural Plan of Cartagena.
Among the conclusions coincide in different working groups a total of 11 different committees, some of which unfolded to facilitate participation-claim are creating new cultural spaces in places like San Antón Prison, the Casa del Niño or the Central Cinema;
