Social Services launches its new campaign to collect new toys, with which calls on citizens to help those most in need and where a number of collaborating institutions.
December 3 will open the first collection points
With the arrival of Christmas returns Toy Collection Campaign organized every year by the city of Cartagena in collaboration with a number of entities.
Councillor of Greater Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon, along with the mayor of Social Services, Carmen Martin, and the coordinator of Social Services, Damian Perez Olmos, presented this municipal initiative bearing the motto fiddles What will bring you? with the aim that no child is left without toys Cartagena Twelfth Night, as explained Calderon.
The campaign will begin on December 3, with the opening of the first items to collect toys in El Corte Inglés, Eroski and Practiser, which will remain operational until 27 December, the first two from 10.30 to 13.30 hours and from 17.00 to 20.00, while Practiser will be open 24 hours.
In addition, the administrative building of the Calle San Miguel also have its collection point, from 14 to 23 December in the morning, and the opening thereof, at 11.15 hours will be borne by the mayor, Jose Lopez, and Deputy Mayor, Ana Belen Castejon, along with representatives of companies, agencies and entities involved with the delivery of the first symbolic toy.
Other points which will also be operating the UPCT in the House of Students, the Santa Lucia Hospital and the Cartagonova Stadium. In addition, on December 11, at 11.00 hours, will proceed to the opening of the collection point Navy Arsenal, with the presence of Admiral and the Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment 73, which is the colonel of the regiment.
The sports world also will turn to the joint initiative.
The staff of Cartagena will also do their bit by signing autographs and photographs, on 18 December in El Corte Ingles, and Futsal-Plastics Romero organize a friendly match on 23 December between clubs, managers, media, local league and players of the first team, in addition to another collection point at the Central Pavilion. In addition, the Circuit de Cartagena is scheduled for the 12th party with DJ and an invitation to drink lid and who carried a toy.
Toys that are delivered must be new and unwrapped, to then classify them by age.
After the collection, and l December 28 will be delivered and then classify them for 29 and 30, with the collaboration of a hundred volunteers.
And on January 4, they will be officially handed over to the requesting entities of toys to be distributed among children.
Collaborate in this solidarity campaign the Regional Assembly, the Brotherhoods of Easter, Red Cross, Carrefour, ONCE, the Federation of Neighborhood Associations and District of Cartagena, Cadena SER, Sabadell-CAM, FS Cartagena-Plastics Romero, Moto Club Black Bomber Levante, the Speed ​​Circuit, Repsol, the Federation of Carthaginians and Romans, and TELECARTAGENA ASTUS.
Last year 3,156 toys were distributed among thirty organizations and groups.
