The Engine Shed Campus Alfonso XIII became Wednesday in audiovisual projections hall to host the Architecture section of the 44th International Film Festival of Cartagena (FICC).
The section 'Footage scale', organized by the School of Architecture and Building of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), has served to analyze the connections between film and architecture.
Specifically, the professor of the Polytechnic Monste Solano and filmmaker Paul Bas, from the School of Cinema of the Mediterranean, have agreed about the importance of space in their respective professional disciplines.
"There are scenes of legendary films that help much to understand abstract concepts of light, space, scale or perspective on architecture," said Solano Monste, UPCT professor and coordinator of the day.
The seminar on film and architecture included screenings of a documentary about the study RCR has won this year's National Architecture Award and another Chilean part of the modular space as well as a selection of short films made by students of architecture.
The space ship engines, disused since the move to ELDI laboratory has been conditioned for this event by students from the School of Architecture and Construction, who have used recycled material and old projectors to decorate the room with iconic images cinema.
