The commission VII Voluntary Commitment Award, organized by the Department of Social Services City of Cartagena, met yesterday to decide the winners of 2015. The individual award went this year, posthumously, in Cartagena Inmaculada Bernal Moreno, member of the Association Alraso. Bernal, who died last September 18 because of cancer, noted for his generosity and involvement in social issues.
A special education teacher in the Salesian school, part of the Alraso Association, an organization that works on the integration of immigrants through direct attention to this group and the awareness of society about this order.
In addition, among other tasks, Inmaculada Bernal volunteered in Africa for the collection and delivery of medicines;
Between 1997 and 2006 he worked in the refugee camp Sigüüenza, and works as an instructor of free time in Cartagena educational project with Don Bosco.
For its part, the collective prize was awarded to the SOI Foundation (Leisure Services Inclusive), dedicated to enable people with intellectual disabilities and / or cerebral palsy, aged 16, to participate in leisure activities with other citizens without disabilities.
S prize delivery will take place on December 15 at 19:00 in the Aula Fundación Caja Mediterráneo of Main Street. The event will be chaired by Francisco Calderon and Carmen Martin.
The same will conclude with a concert of African music group led by award-winning husband in the individual section, Inmaculada Bernal Moreno.
