Citizens spokesman Cartagena, Manuel Padin, met today with Secretary General of the Association for Real and Effective Equality (AIR), Juan Francisco Solichero, and the prosecutor and member of this group, Maria Isabel Díez.
This Association was born in January 2014 in order to promote equal treatment for mothers and fathers in marital breakdown and make the award of joint custody of the children is the most common choice.
Among the various actions taken by this Association it is to transfer the municipal political groups with proposals to facilitate, from local competence, compliance with court rulings that establish the shared custody of the child between the two spouses.
Citizens from Cartagena we have collected some of these proposals, which are currently being studied to assess their suitability and decide the best way to elevate the government team in the city of Cartagena.
This Municipal Citizens Group wishes to recall that, since its founding, has advocated joint custody as a rule in case of separation, and no exception as occurs in this region.
Citizens argues that national legislation of regulating the current situation of inequality suffered by separated parents is approved.
From the Parliamentary Group of Citizens, after recently meeting with various groups advocating joint custody, he pledged to support the Popular Legislative Initiative (ILP) for the legal regulation on a future Parental Responsibility Act and Family Relations.
This initiative has been accepted for consideration in the Congress of Deputies and within days will begin collecting signatures for processing, in which citizens will work.
